Moldistan Revisited - Why Are We Back

After nearly a decade, Okto Eight is thrilled to return to the fictional eastern bloc country of Moldistan, reigniting the immersive gaming experience that began in 2014.

Our first series in Moldistan ran successfully until 2017, and now, we’re back to explore how the world—and Moldistan—has changed in the interim.

In the original series, rebels fought to free their enslaved homeland after a rich Titanium seam was discovered. NATO, the Moldistan Army, and the Moldistan Peoples Front (MPF) clashed in a fierce battle for control. Eventually, a ceasefire was reached, and Moldistan was divided into two regions: one ruled by the old guard and the other by the MPF.

So, what has changed in nine years?

The MPF, fueled by wealth derived from Titanium mining, has now risen to power and prosperity. They have transformed into the Democratic Peoples Republic of Moldistan Army (DPRMA). With their newfound resources, they’ve purchased a $300 million superweapon from the previous Bad To The Bone game and are now driven by renewed ambition for reunification—this time, with them in charge.

NATO is watching closely. Moldistan, sandwiched between Ukraine and Russia, has become a region of significant geopolitical interest.

What’s worse, a mysterious organized crime syndicate known as the Baba Yaga has entered the fray. They’ve abducted the inventor of the superweapon from the last game set in Canada, adding a new layer of intrigue and danger to the unfolding story.

Conclusion

Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to dive back into the world of Moldistan. The stage is set for an unforgettable return, and we can’t wait to see how the story unfolds!
